It was a beautiful sunny summer day and Craig drove up towards north fork, on the drive I kept pointing out open spots that would be perfect to eat our lunch but he kept telling me no, we had to be by the river. We ended up driving all the way up to the end of the trail that was by the river, it was a perfect shady spot for us to eat our lunch! Craig surprised me by pulling out chocolate covered strawberries, peaches and sparkling cider with the sandwich I had requested. I couldn't help but smile, it was just perfect! After lunch both of us wanted to go down by the river for a minute before we headed back for home. Craig sent me down to the river telling me that he was going back to the car to grab his camera (he loves taking pictures). Once he got down to the river next to me he told me that he wanted to cross the river - I laughed and told him there was no way I was jumping across and risking a chance of falling in the river! I had a very good point and he knew it...I decided it would be fun to tell Craig that I would push him in the river instead. Laughing he told me that first I would have to take his cell phone, his car keys and his camera (he handed each item to me) then he told me to close me eyes and stick my empty hand out (me being the blond I am still didn't know what was coming!). I felt him place something light and square in my hands, he told me to open my eyes and as I did my eyes fell on the most beautiful diamond ring I had ever seen! That was when Craig popped the question "Will you marry me?" He told me that it seemed like I took eternity to answer that question but the first thought that came to my mind was yes!
It was absolutely perfect, I could not ask for anything better!
That evening we went down to The Roof to celebrate our getting engaged...it was the best food ever and I have never had a better dessert! It was the best way to celebrate that wonderful occasion of the two of us deciding to get married!
That evening we went to dinner at The Roof and walked around temple square
I can't believe it has been one year already since I said yes, it has been the greatest year ever and I am looking forward to what the future holds for Craig and I! :)
